Flowering plants

Over 90% of the plants in the world produce flowers. Plants that produce flowers are called flowering plants. The plants that do not produce flowers are called non-flowering plants. Ferns and mosses are examples non-flowering plants.

 

What is a flower?

A flower is a special part of a plant that helps it reproduce. Flowers come in many different shapes and sizes. Take a look at the pictures below.

This is the flower of a type of water lily.

 

This is a rose. Many people think the rose is one of the most beautiful flowers in the world.

 

This flower is called a daisy.

 

This is a yellow hibiscus flower
