Secondary Industry

Secondary industry involves making products out of raw materials or other things. It also involves assembling products. Everything from making chocolate bars and assembling cars to building houses and roads are part of secondary industry. Some examples of secondary industry are shown below.

In this bakery, ingredients like flour, water and yeast are mixed and baked to make bread. This is an example of secondary industry.

 

Construction is an example of secondary industry. Workers use steel, concrete, wood and other material to build skyscrapers like this one or houses like the one you live in.

 

Your favourite chocolate bar was probably made in a factory like this one. This is another example of secondary industry.
