The Coat of Arms

Look at the picture below. This is the coat of arms of St. Lucia which is the official seal of the Government of Saint Lucia. It was designed by Sydney Bagshaw.

There are many symbols or emblems on the coat of arms.

The torch represents a beacon to light the path

The amazona versicolor is the national bird. Two of them can be seen holding up a shield.

There is a bamboo cross on the shield. Bamboo is the national plant.

The Tudor Rose (red and white flower) represents England. There are two of them on the shield.

The fleur de lis represents France. There are two of them on the shield.

The stool in the middle of the shield represents Africa.

The motto is written on a banner under the shield.
