There are four noun genders. Let us look at each one.
Masculine gender: These are nouns that refer to the male of a species. Some examples are boy, man, actor, stallion, king, buck and rooster.
Feminine gender: These are nouns that refer to the female of a species. Some examples are girl, woman, actress, mare, queen, doe and hen.
Common Gender: These are nouns which can be used for both males and females. Some examples are child, adult, performer, monarch, horse and chicken.
Neuter Gender: These are nouns which refer to things which are neither male nor female. Some examples are car, airplane, toy, shoe, tablet and desk.
